No Place Left to Roam – Creative Nonfiction Memoir

This memoir piece follows my time hitchhiking the West Coast and confronting ideas of freedom, loss, and transformation. It serves as one of my MFA in Creative Writing submissions and explores the blurred line between liberation and instability through a cinematic, voice-driven lens.

Writing this piece taught me how to translate lived experience into literary storytelling—fusing dialogue, image, and rhythm in a way that mirrors the journey itself. It also helped me embrace vulnerability as a creative strength and clarify the themes that define much of my current work: freedom, rebellion, and the search for belonging.

This piece stands as both a personal reckoning and an artistic statement—a reminder that sometimes survival and self-discovery are the same story told two different ways.
